Spring on the Green
As part of a week of World Earth Day events Planet Wimborne organised Spring on the Green. The purpose of the World Earth Day is to promote environmental protection, sustainability, and climate action. This year’s theme was “Our Power, Our Planet” and concentrated on how communities can act to create positive change, which is exactly what Wilding Wimborne is doing.
Spring on the Green is one of several events run by Planet Wimborne to promote World Earth Day. It was a great opportunity for Wilding Wimborne to get out there and show the depth and breadth of the actions we are taking. That included practical actions such as planting trees or putting up bee boxes, advising people on how they can help wildlife such as wilding our gardens and putting in hedgehog highways or influencing people on how they can change what they are doing to prevent damaging the environment for instance in changing flea treatment.
It was a great success, we all met lots of people and had many interesting conversations and maybe made some new recruits to the cause. If anyone came along, but didn’t leave your details and wish you had, please get in touch. More support means we can do more.
A special thank you to Chris Brown the Town Crier and Cllr Chris Ryan who launched the day.
